Hoya ‘Carol’ is the accepted and established name for a unique Hoya. It was published first and circulated widely in final pdf download by Somadee in 2022 and established in print in January 2023.

Full name Hoya ‘Carol’ may also be written as Hoya (H.wallichii x H.phyllura) ‘Carol’, or as Hoya wallichii ‘Carol’, which indicates the established pod parent under the The International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN) in lieu of the unestablished hybrid formula; alongside the established cultivar epithet. The last option, while permitted, may introduce undesirable confusion as to the nature of the hybrid cultivar within the marketplace.

Category Hybrid. Hoya ‘Carol’ results from a hand cross between Hoya wallichii (female pod parent), and Hoya phyllura (male pollen donor). ‘Carol’ was selected among the resulting seedlings and propagated by stem cuttings.
